Lucend receives MIT R&D research grant in partnership with Syntho

Lucend is proud to announce that, together with Syntho, the company has been awarded a research grant from the Provincie Noord-Holland MIT R&D innovation fund.

The two organizations will collaborate to advance the use of synthetic data generation and machine learning in physically constrained industrial environments where the behavior of hundreds of interdependent assets is governed by physics and continuously influences overall system performance.

Data centers are a prime example of such environments, where complex interactions make high-quality data essential for safe and reliable optimization.

The research aims to accelerate the adoption of synthetic data generation across industrial sectors. Expected benefits include a deeper understanding of system-level interactions, reduced dependence on large volumes of real-world operational data, and greater accessibility of AI-driven optimization. For data centers specifically, this work has the potential to significantly reduce energy and water consumption while improving reliability and sustainability.
